Each year Guardians of the Children and the Alzafar Shriners hold a fund-raising bike rally to raise money and awareness for child abuse prevention. Members of the Texas Bowties met up early morning and cruised a short distance to the Helotes Fairgrounds. Once at the fairgrounds the group wasted little time parking the cars under a group of oak trees to shade the members along with the cars from the sweltering sun. Pulling out the folding chairs, the group settled down for some refreshments and small talk in behind some of the cars. Throughout the day members strolled around the grounds and took in the bike show, music and enjoyed the food vendors. The highlight of the day was Texas Bowties President "Robert Lowry" getting put into the pretend jail and the members slowly collecting enough money to bail him out, helping the event charity.
